Here is how this role will be critical to our business:

Role purpose

Support cross-functional corn and sunflower products design and development, from conception to launch, by connecting technical and business worlds, ensuring competitive scenarios for the mid-long term will be properly achieved.

Accountabilities

  • Support designing technologies that will be part of our portfolio in the medium-long term (6 to 15 years)
  • Represent Product Management in technical discussions on regional/local project teams for traits and pipeline development, providing guidance to these project teams and ensuring design and development are aligned to product design
  • Contribute on scouting for innovation and support innovation team
  • Consolidate crop-related data and info to support Long Term Plan reviews
  • Lead IRM strategic discussions with technical teams and represent S&PM in advocacy iniciatives
  • Track competitiveness on traits and germplasm through consistent platforms
  • Support (in and out) licencing-related activities where Portfolio Management inputs is needed
  • Contribute on product advancements discussions
  • Create and review procedures and processes maps for the activities under Portfolio Management accountability
  • Develop tools to organize and report accurate information to support decisions on the various forums where PM is part of
  • Propose and track KPIs for Product Management
  • Support budget management and tracking
  • Coordinate vendors and 3rd party contracts under PM responsibility
  • Work collaboratively with PM manager counterpart for other crops, in order to ensure harmonized communication and info to stakeholders

Qualifications

Essential for this position:

  • Background in Life Sciences; M.Sc. is desirable
  • Understanding of seeds business environment. Minimal 2y-experience in seeds business environment
  • English is required to ensure ability to discuss and influence in this language
  • Spanish/Portuguese language is desirable
  • Digital fluency is required (data management tools, Visual tools, Power BI, etc)
  • Experience in corn and/or sunflower crops, either in development or commercial areas (experience in both crops will be a plus)
  • Thorough understanding of crop products life cycle (from development to launch and phase-out) and E2E seeds business, with sufficient knowledge to identify critical issues and engage effectively with people to remove blockers in the progress
  • Attention to details, strategic view & agile mindset
  • Ability to take complex data and transform in clear information to other functions and stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Strong business acumen, professional and assertive communication skills (written & oral)
  • Lead by influence in order to achieve goals – trust and hold each other as accountable to deliver
