You will be part of the Capex Projects team and will Coordinate Capex Projects for the Crop Protection Business.Here is how this role will be critical to our business:

About This Job:

  • Deliver part of the Syngenta capital investment program by:
  • Leading a part of one or more engineering capital projects; this could be a technical responsibility across a whole project or a cross- functional responsibility for a part or phase of a project, thus ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within cost and safety parameters set by a project manager.
  • Managing one or more minor engineering capital projects under the direction of an Engineering Manager or Engineering Project Manager. Eventually manage major project under supervision of Engineering manager
  • Providing technical leadership for projects (e.g. mechanical engineering or electrical engineering).
  • Project Management is defined as "The planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of a project and the motivation of all those involved in it to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality, safety and performance."

Responsibilities:

  • Work to shape project scope. This often requires holding ambiguity before a project scope is finalized in a Terms of Reference.
  • In compliance with company policy and local legislation determine, implement and ensure adherence to the PRA process and other safe working procedures.
  • Estimate, execute and track costs and physical progress to ensure project delivery meets challenging time constraints and within established cost and safety parameters.
  • Detailed co-ordination of the internal and external resources that form a project team
  • Identify, specify and monitor the implementation of appropriate standards for engineering for design, procurement and construction to ensure compliance with company policy, local regulations and assets that are fit for purpose.
  • By the production of an engineering definition package, fully describe the technical, process and operational requirements of the asset to be built and subsequently develop a detailed design which meets project success criteria.
  • Agree with the site the requirements for project data and provide timely and accurate information required for the compilation of the registers of equipment, alarms and trips and to meet the other agreed site documentation requirements
  • By liaison with a Commissioning Manager, ensure the timely identification and implementation of inventories and functional testing requirements.
  • Contribute to robust, timely applications for engineering capital approvals and project completion reports.

Qualifications

 

  • Graduated Engineer; 
  • MBA/ Post-Graduation in Project management or related fields is desired 
  • PMI Certification/ knowledge will be considered a differential
  • Fluent in English
  • Intermediate level of Spanish is desired

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid experience coordinating/managing Capex Projects
  • Experience working in Brownfields and Green field projects is desirable
  • Experience with stakeholder management
  • Experience managing cross boundary projects
  • Experience working within the agrichemical, chemical, pharmaceutical and foods will be considered for this role.
