Purpose

To collaborate and support the Business facing Country teams in managing and collection of financial information (Actuals and Forecasts) as decision support for Production & Supply (P&S)

To process and deliver country forecasting process (e.g. Budgets and Latest Estimates), in conjunction with the business facing teams; including provision of reports and insightful analysis for the preparation of presentations to country/Global management

Accountabilities

  • Responsibilities of Month End Close Activities (Inventory reporting, variance analysis, Budgeting & forecasting, other controlling activities, Overview posting).
  • Provide accurate, timely and relevant financial analysis and reports to Global Finance team in order to support key business decisions and validate results against Budgets and P&S KPI's.
  • Produce, validate and analyse financial data and reports for country/function/site forecasting processes (i.e. Standard Costing cycle, quarterly Latest Estimates (LE's) and annual Budgets) in order to ensure timely completion, accurate information and qualitative financial input.
  • Support country teams in preparing Monthly Business Review, Country Leadership Team decks etc.
  • Display a good understanding of gaps to Latest Plan / Budgets / PY etc. and can describe drivers of variances to senior stakeholders accurately
  • Generate meaningful insights through data and financial analysis
  • Support Budgeting and Planning process
  • Prepare the financial case for investment proposals for review and approval by the relevant decision making body
  • Support Ad hoc analysis, projects and requests as necessary to enable decision support
  • Support best practices, knowledge and implementation of them to improve processes/services.
  • Support Continuous improvements in the process, in line with the finance operations.
  • Global residual function cost review  

Experience required for the job:

  • Working experience of Financial and Management Reporting
  • Experience in the understanding and effective communication of financial results to non-finance stakeholders
  • Understanding of reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, ideally within a shared service environment
  • Sound understanding of key financial concepts, solid theoretical background in finance and accounting and reporting
  • Ability to effectively analyse numbers, present conclusions and recommendations in a clear way
  • Ability to influence finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure while keeping high quality of output
  • Ability to combine attention to details and understanding the big picture
  • Good working knowledge of Financial Accounting and Management Reporting systems (e.g. SAP, EBI / BW, SBFC, SAC) and should be a quick learner to learn the technology and tools used by Syngenta
  • Keen attitude to learn and take on new tasks where necessary

Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job:

  • 8 -10 years of experience in multinational environment / plant exposure / FP&A
  • Controlling experience (Cost Analysis, Variance Analysis, MIS, Product costing))
  • SAP CO module must and Knowledge of FI, MM & SD module will add advantage
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English communications
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office tools and proficiency in Excel is preferred
  • Concern for high standards and data accuracy and service mind-set
  • Should have managed stakeholder in a multi country set up
  • Strong self-confidence in presentations and discussion with senior stakeholders
  • Able to work independently without much guidance

Qualifications

Bachelor/Master/MBA in Economics or Finance. Holds professional Finance qualification i.e. CA, ICWA or equivalent will add advantage.
