To effectively plan, schedule & monitor, construction, project and non-manufacturing area activities including relevant contractor work tasks. Other responsibilities include;

  • To liaise and co-ordinate construction and project work with the design office and contractors, then collaborate and agree production windows with the production and engineering plant teams.
  • To produce resource plans for the site term contractors.
  • Contribute in all safety challenges and be proactive in all aspects of the Syngenta safety culture. Ensure HSE is considered within the planning process and regulatory and permitry requirements are detailed.
  • To ensure the scope is planned adequately including taking site visits as required, co-ordinating with the scope originators and at times developing the scope where only partial information is received.
  • Lead all construction planning meetings ensure they are arranged, attended, communicated and actions completed.
  • Support the Construction Manager with estimates for scope when required.
  • Develop and produce progress S- curves.
  • Co-ordinate with external companies when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous engineering planning experience of multi-disciplined tasks.
  • An in-depth knowledge and experience in the use of primavera planning software, with the ability to act as a Super User and coaching role for the wider planning function.
  • Ability to understand and extract information, hours and trade information from engineering estimates prepared by others.
  • A good health and safety ethic and general knowledge of safety within the construction industry.
  • Ability to forward plan labour levels, per trade, communicate with the contractors and monitor actual labour levels.
  • A general technical knowledge of varying disciplines of engineering.
  • IT skills, in particular be strong in MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to develop and maintain progress curves recording both planned and actual progress.
  • General awareness of SAP.
