Job description

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Operations Specialist to join our UK team. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize all aspects of our Order to Cash (OTC) process for Crop Protection & Seeds business. Key responsibilities include daily customer and sales team communications, , handling invoicing, discounts, and rebates, and maintaining customer master data. As a Sales Force super user, you'll drive continuous improvement in operational performance and customer experience. You'll also collaborate on change management initiatives, lead improvement projects, and implement automated OTC interfaces and M2M order processing enhancements. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for customer service excellence. Experience in agricultural or related industries is preferred.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Work with Customer Service Team lead to drive further automation & customer connectivity within the Syngenta Operating Model
  • Support the set up of  commercial terms (payment, logistic discount, etc.), support those terms in such a way that highest levels of customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and sales targets are achieved. Communication and support with sales teams regarding potential upside/shortfalls/allocations and sales analysis
  • Be involved in Process & System design/testing and operations.
  • Proactively identify ways to reduce complexity and cost in the way Syngenta provides customer service, through process improvement and technology solutions. Be involved in Process & System design/testing and operations.
  • Execute daily Order To Cash processes for Syngenta UK, including customer rebates, bill & hold orders, and consignment orders
  • Manage transfer shipments to/from Belfast warehouse and coordinate with logistics providers
  • Support the BA members to be fully compliant with internal and external regulations
  • Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations and deliver UK and North West P&S strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and required experience

  • University degree in a commercial/ business or technical/ IT subject
  • Experience in business operations and customer service ideally with the exposure to business process management and value stream mapping
  • Experience in customer complaints management and working across functions and diverse geographies, with the ability to manage complex relationships across business sectors
  • Capability and readiness to understand and communicate the current and future challenges faced by the organization and the potential drivers of change
  • Expertise in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and MS Office applications.
  • Background in change execution and know-how about Agile & Operational Excellence is a plus.
  • Driving License and flexibility with occasional travel.

Syngenta’s site at Cambridge is the location for the commercial operations of Syngenta's Crop Protection, Seeds, Flowers and Lawn & Garden businesses in the UK and Ireland. Activities include sales, marketing, technical support, customer support, HR, Finance and administration functions.
