Overview

The role of Field Production Specialist Cereals UK & Ireland is to manage growers in assigned growing area ensuring production of high-quality cereal seed crops in line with the production plan.

You will monitor the fields and advice growers throughout the growing season to ensure high quality productions, reporting any quality issues to the relevant stakeholders. You will take part in crop inspections for Hybrid Barley Seed Crops around the country, coordinate the sampling of seed following harvest to ensure the quality.

This is an incredibly exciting role with the objective to drive continuous improvement in all seeds production processes as well as in key performance indicators. You will become part of a dynamic, multi-functional/ multinational team based in the UK.

Accountabilities

•             Demonstrate a general interest and knowledge of UK agriculture.

•             Able to organise and conduct meetings with growers to ensure mutual requirements in all key areas are met.

•             Proactively keeps up to date information regarding varieties and trends, identified by Product Development activities.

•             Maintains accurate records for analysis on seed contract results and provides information reports and data as required.

•             Successfully prioritise work to ensure an excellent service is delivered.

•             Able to adapt to seasonal peaks and troughs of the business.

•             Team-oriented personality but is able to work independently.

•             Interest in analytics/data management


Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

•             Either a degree in a relevant Agricultural Subject, or practical experience in Seed Production.

•             Good understanding and interest in UK agriculture

•             Qualification in Basis/FACTS, or the ability to gain within the first year

•             Full driving licence

•             Computer Literate, with experience (or willingness to learn) Microsoft Office and SAP

•             Excellent organisation and planning skills

•             Self-motivated and able to take responsibility for making decisions

•             Candidates who have recently graduated will be considered for the role

•             Work required outside normal working hours (longer days at peak season and some weekend work).

•             Flexible home base location from Lincs, Nott or East Anglia
