  • Manage site CAPEX portfolio and investment plan for sustenance as well as expansion projects
  • Conduct feasibility study for potential investment projects incl. business case
  • Ensure safe execution of capital projects from conceptual design to handover and commissioning according to Syngenta HSE Standards
  • Plan, execute and track the progress of projects, in accordance with budget and schedule
  • Staff the project team to provide the right skillset on projects and provide direction and vision to the project team
  • Develop collaboration with key engineering partners
  • Communicate actively with all involved functions of the organization, incl. reporting on project/schedule/cost and escalation of issues
  • Ensure adherence to quality and engineering standards
  • Support improvement of site way of working and monitor compliance to applicable practices policies, and specifications
  • Manage and perform overall proactive quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance etc.)
  • Verify and approve key project milestones, i.e. Mechanical Completion / Final construction 'as-built' documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering/Science preferred in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology or a similar discipline.
  • Working Experience within the CAPEX related field
  • At least 5 years of working experience in project management / commissioning in chemical / pharmaceutical industry (manufacturing environment)
  • Good understanding of change management and process risk analysis as well as maintenance.
  • Innovative & focused approach to identify and implement ways of working and tools to achieve project objectives.
  • Structured & rigorous approach ensuring effective coordination to ensure safe, reliable, effective & sustainable implementation.
  • Ability to lead and influence a diverse team without direct line responsibility, including technical experts and senior staff.
  • Communicates clearly and regularly with all project stakeholders.
  • Fluent in both, German and English, French would be a good asset
