Role purpose

  • Lead the development and deployment of the “Country Capability Development Roadmap” in defined geography within India which is aimed at the accelerated implementation of Country strategy by focusing on the enhancement of customer experiences. The capability scope includes skills, behaviors, systems, and processes for internal Syngenta sales personnel and external customers.
  • Design learning solutions resulting in desired behavior change in relevant commercial teams
  • Lead efforts to streamline learning efficiency and effectiveness by advancing leading-edge enabling tools.
  • Build the culture of sustainable learning organization across customer-facing functions, leveraging internal & external tools and approaches. 
  • Work closely with the country and regional (APAC) Capability Leads to contribute, develop and extend best practice methodologies targeted at customer-facing personnel (commercial team)

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of the Division sales capability development roadmap aimed at the accelerated implementation of the marketing strategy by focusing on employee development.
  • Develop, deploy & drive digital learning initiatives across assigned geographies
  • Lead efforts to streamline learning efficiency and effectiveness and improve the capability of the field force.
  • Ensure that the sales force has the right and effective tools to fulfill their job delivery in the marketplace and to align skills, behaviors, and capabilities to demonstrate Syngenta values.
  • Strong coordination with other employees in the divisions assigned for effective business delivery.
  • Driving key training projects to enhance effectiveness and field force productivity

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ag (Master’s Preferred)
  • A understanding of the sales process (Ag -Chem Industry)
  • Fluency in Telegu & Kannada
  • Fundamentals of Training & OD
  • Understanding of LMS & content creation software(s)

Critical experience

  • Expert level understanding of Selling Processes with an overall experience of greater than 10-15 years of which 3-4 years of people management experience is a must along with an additional Training and Organizational Development experience of at least 4-5 years
  • Facilitation of Key Organizational Teams, Background, and Experience with Training/OD Resources.
  • Project management/leadership experience in senior-level situations

Critical technical, professional, and personal capabilities

  • Experience in Organizational Learning, experience in assessing Training, and O.D. gaps & needs
  • Assessing Needs, Customer focus, Presentation mastery, Action-oriented, Interpersonal, and Technologically savvy,
  • Self Awareness, Communication (i.e., listening and communicating in appropriate style),  Innovative and Creative, Strategic Thinking, Ability to adapt in all Situations, Composure, Functional and Technical Skills, Motivating others, Facilitation, and significant proficiency in redirecting individuals’ behavior and leading/counseling people through change.
  • Understanding and experience in handling LMs along with experience in content creation software like Articulate 360, etc.

Critical success factors & key challenges

  • Balancing Country, and Division objectives and priorities
  • Integrating learning into the business cycle and thus  into existing commercial processes, e.g. the campaign cycle
  • Understanding and focus on field-level activities and interactions
  • Communicating and collaborating across all levels of the organization
  • Develop and implement a blended curriculum (that includes pre-learning, learning, and post-learning) and infrastructure to support the process.
  • Create a process apart from a usual measurement index to measure the impact of the capability development Programs
  • Assessing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating sales programs to support Country strategy.
  • Work together strategically with L&D and MaSE to enhance learning opportunities. Coordinate efforts with the L&D agenda with the Country’s strategic agenda
