About this opportunity:

We are looking for a Business Process Analyst (Planning) to join our P&S CoE here at Syngenta. The purpose of the role is to combine planning process knowledge and planning system expertise, including knowledge of necessary master data, to support key users, projects, and process change which could be driven by project activities.  You will work with external partners and service providers to ensure systems work seamlessly together and act as escalation point for any unresolved issues.  You will act as an expert and challenge how we use our systems, to get the maximum out of our planning systems.  The role requires you to help drive the application of planning principles in the systems & you will be a trusted, recognized partner through building strong relationships with key stakeholders such as key users, CoE, IT, etc. You will provide training and education to key users in the use of planning systems in support of our business processes and play an active role in the creation and maintenance of supporting training documentation.

You will be accountable for:

  • Providing analysis on planning issues/topics with use of the planning systems. Cooperate with external partners and service providers.
  • Point of escalation for key user support in the use of our business processes and planning systems.
  • Work with key stakeholders (key user, CoE, IT, BPC etc) to translate planning principles, policies and processes into user documentation, and use of our existing systems and tools. Enabling sustainable use of our processes and system, and maximizing our investments in systems
  • Actively contribute within projects, understanding the requirements from the business, providing expertise in our processes and systems
  • Convert supply planning challenges into use of our systems through master data and configuration changes
  • Contribute actively to the planning community (key users, CoE, IT, etc)

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities:

Critical knowledge:

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering
  • Supply planning experience and expertise
  • Experience of managing small projects/initiatives
  • Understand the impact of planning processes and tools in other functional areas and systems  (eg logistics, production execution)
  • Good financial understanding
  • Crop Protection knowledge is an advantage
  • Functional experience in the use of SAP APO is a requirement. Knowledge in other planning systems is an advantage
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage

Critical experience:

  • 5+ years of functional experience in supply planning
  • Planning experience at different levels in the organisation (country and multi-country) and ideally also at manufacturing site level
  • Solid understanding of planning systems (e.g. SAP R/3, APO)
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural and complex matrix organisation
  • Delivering training to users, translating planning concepts and system usage in business language

  • Analytical thinker - solves problems quickly and effectively. Breaks down complex problems into simple and manageable steps
  • Translate business language into process and system functional concepts
  • Team player with effective communication skills
  • Influencing skills - develops relationships with stakeholders, gains trust and respect, manages conflict
  • Constantly looks at how to use our processes and systems to create value for the company
  • Pragmatic in the approach to resolve system usage challenges
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work across networks, and with remote locations.
  • Excellent presentation skills
