In our quest to harness the potential of plants to feed the world, we seek a visionary to guide the creation and management of digital tools, pivotal for our internal Seeds Research. This role will craft a seamless data ecosystem for genetic information, intertwined with LIMS, Lead Management, and Decision Making platforms, enhancing our biotech R&D efforts. You will lead projects with scientists and developers, translate scientific needs into digital strategies, and maintain our tools to the highest scientific standards. Your strategic oversight will ensure that our digital products are not only scientifically rigorous but also intuitively designed for internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving innovation within our research to ultimately bring superior seeds from lab to field.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and manage the roadmap for digital products in the biotech pipeline, ensuring they meet scientific, technical, and data management needs.
  • Coordinate with research and development teams to ensure digital solutions are scientifically accurate and technically feasible.
  • Champion the integration of advanced technologies (e.g., AI and LLMs, data analytics) in digital products to drive innovation in biotech research.
  • Manage product lifecycle, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on product performance, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve goals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science with a specialization in bioinformatics, Genomics, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience with at least one of these -- genomic databases, biotech lab workflows, LIMS, and data ecosystem architecture.
  • In-depth understanding of digital product development and management with application and development teams.  Ideally within a biotech or life sciences research setting
  • Experience in managing cross-disciplinary IT projects.
  • Expertise with bioinformatics tools, databases, and IT management software.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Robust analytical abilities for scientific data interpretation and IT system conceptualization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a capacity for innovation in complex scientific and IT domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and drive innovative teams.
  • Strategic thinker with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication capabilities, adept at simplifying and articulating complex bioinformatics and IT topics to various audiences.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape impacting biotechnology data management and compliance.
