Role Purpose

  • Ensure the smooth coordination of the product flow from manufacturing site till the moment product enters the SYT warehouse/final shipping destination
  • Working closely with internal/ external stakeholders and 3rd parties involved (customs brokers, state authority bodies etc).
  • Ensure via Supply Chain EAME the availability of products for the CU market in time, in quantity and quality in order to secure the timely and requested delivery to the customers in a planning horizon of 27/36 months
  • Secure maximum Customer Satisfaction through qualitative (in line with the product specs), timely and correct information flow and planning realisation
  • Implement and update demand plan / replenishment plan based on the output from the sales planning process defined globally using Syngenta planning systems.
  • Participate in and contribute to the process of forecast generation by cross-checking the latest market trends, past periods demands proven performance and other contributing factors in a sustainable way where demand inputs are verified
  • Ensure forecast uncertainties are properly managed in the demand plan.
  • Contribute to the inventory management KPIs aligned with regional, local targets.
  • Ensure high degree of data integrity for all master data.

Accountabilities

IMPORT OPERATIONS

  • Follow closely the documentation, product and financial flow of the import process with supply specialist and involve actively wherever required to maintain the end to end coordination.

SALES AND OPERATIONS PLANNING

  • Challenging the forecast of monthly sales of Sales (KA) and Campaign (Portfolio) Managers by participating in Pre Sales and Operations Planning (pre-S&OP)  meetings (Forecast ongoing season and Market data for 27 months)
  • Follow up of orders, upsides/downsides adaptations by country/code/pack/month
  • Transform forecast from Pre Sales and Operations Planning meetings in Supply Demand plan according to forecasting tool processes of scenario planning (taking into account categorisation/reactivity A,B,C; management of variability of forecast with decision date, establishment of allocation plan, management of upsides/downsides) in connection with Supply Chain Planners
  • Inform Head of P&S, HoS, Key Account Managers, Campaign (Crop) management regarding supply of products in case of changes regarding demand e.g. delay, shortage, quality issues, ….during Pre-SOP meetings or in between

INVENTORY AND DEMAND MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor inventories and manage them in an operational way especially for specific products (as ‘no and slow movers’, unrestricted, blocked stocks, discards and shipped products) in terms of quantity, quality and costs
  • Initiate correct labelling according to legislation
  • Allocate products and volumes to orders internally in line with agreed allocation and pro-rate agreements
  • Analyse changes in agreed delivery plan to be able to ensure optimal availability of products (especially in case of disruption of production)

SUPPLY

  • Manage purchase ordering within Syngenta and third party suppliers according to guidelines and based on forecasted data in order to have volumes available for sales on time
  • Organize with Regional Supply Chain Planning and Operational Teams specific actions/operations as direct deliveries, returns to Supply Chain, Combi-Packs, follow up of allocation, quality complaints

DATA MANGEMENT 

  • Ensure the sales forecast and planning parameters are maintained in the system as agreed at S&OP accordingly
  • Coordinate and support the process of range management and SAP workflows for New Product Introductions
  • Maintenance of product codes (Phase-in/phase-outs)
  • Create, update and manage Product codes according to the range management process in SAP. Manage material and purchasing master data in SAP, APO, IBP and other related systems
  • Support material management activities in SAP
  • Where necessary management and coordination of Master Data from Received towards End Item level, including Test plans for a plant(s)

LEGAL and FISCAL

  • Ensure that all the fiscal and legal requirements of the country (taxation, registration,    labelling, environmental protection etc.) are met and that all corporate policies are well understood and implemented.

  • Become a key player for  stake holders within the Commercial Unit and Supply Chain
  • Establish excellent working relationships with key counterparts internally (in CUs) and externally (Territory, Region and Global), both Commercial and Supply wise.
  • Quick, pro-active and adequate communications towards Commercial Unit and Supply Chain
  • Identify and solve short term constraints/delivery issues with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage change and personal impact on change and take efficient actions accordingly
  • Ability to see essential in complex business processes and to find ways to improve them
  • Establishment of feasible demand plans supported by regional as well as local team members
  • To work closely with sales, marketing, customer service and supply chain teams and get buy-in through involvement of and cooperation.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • Education to a degree (Master’s degree in Agriculture/Economy/Supply-Logistics area would be a big plus)
  • Deep knowledge of Planning Cycles, Sales Cycles, Production, Processes
  • Understanding, and knowledge of Syngenta business, local market, distribution system, customers and products
  • Knowledge in multiple SAP functions
  • Computer literacy (MS Office proficiency)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Critical experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in planning in CP and/or seed industry
  • Demonstrated experience of ERP/MRP systems
  • SAP and Microsoft office skills
  • Proven ability to deliver promises under tight time lines
