Job description

ROLE PURPOSE :

  • Act as Production & Supply logistics team member for managing imports and exports (Import trade and customs) activity with full compliance.
  • Manage the operation related to primary logistic (In-bound & outbound shipment from origin to destination) ensuring delivery on time..
  • Maintaining partnerships with Port authorities/Bank/logistics service providers & optimizing the processes where possible.
  • Work strongly to maintain operational cost- demurrage/delay/CHA expenses/others within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to participate in Logistic projects.
  • Maintain compliance with the Quality and HSE requirement.
  • Maintain team collaboration for hub-based import model.
  • Participate different project along with Govt body and corporate affairs team

ACCOUNTABILITIES : 

  • Ensure the team open all the Letter of credit on time and communicate with Principal/Hub operation.
  • Provide vessel visibility.
  • Ensure customs clearances on time with clean shipping documents.
  • Properly do retirement of shipping documents on time.
  • Liaison with Banks officials & Port authority and CHAs.
  • Leverages a strong understanding of customs regulations and ensures accuracy and completeness of trade documentation for export / import.
  • Lead Cost control & avoidance of additional costs resulting from process failures - delay/expenses/demurrage.
  • Conducts root cause analysis recommend implements corrective actions for service / operational failures.
  • Works in partnership and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Follow up with Hub Operation for solving critical issue & timely escalation.
  • Lead all the Logistic Projects.
  • Compliance with Syngenta HSE principles.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor/ Masters in any discipline from a reputed university
  • Education in supply chain like CSCM, CPLM, PGDSCM, CIPS will be added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain management with Trade and customs experience.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in English
  • Excellent IT knowledge: Top advance excel skill, Advance Power point
  • SAP related knowledge will be added advantage for the position
  • Teamwork, Communication Skills, interpersonal skill would be assessed
  • Proficient on Functional knowledge (end to end import process, inco-terms, shipping line knowledge, port operations knowledge and customs management are core expectation).  

Additional Information

Relationship Management

  • Periodic visit to Banks/ customs house/ CHA and any other government authority when required.
