We are currently seeking an Area Sales Manager, for our Vegetable Seeds team in California. As the Area Sales Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performance sales team to achieve sales and profit targets for the sales area.
 
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

• Acting as a Key Driver of specific crop strategies to deliver sustainable long-term Sales Area business objectives. 
• Deliver accurate and timely sales forecast and sales plan for Sales Area

Accountabilities

• Design and drive the evolution of the Go to Market strategies in the area in alignment with the Commercial Unit to deliver an efficient and effective business, provides continuous feedback on the area market and customer evolution.
• Leverages continuously increasing customer and market intimacy to develop the overall Veg Seeds offer and corresponding sales execution for the area working within the CU go to market strategy and guidelines
• Nurture key contacts in the Vegetable industry and build relationships with major influencers on the Syngenta business. 
• Monitor business performance and adjust strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and overall business contribution targets.
• Provide high scientific, technical, specialized product expertise
• Implements sales execution actions in support of campaigns including Sales Area and Commercial Unit product launch strategies for their area
• Works side-by-side with Product Development Specialists and the Marketing Operations Lead to coordinate the demo and demand generation plan

Requirements 

• BS/BA Degree (MS preferred) in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Agribusiness
• Strong business & finance acumen
• Experience in leading multi-functional teams
• Strong Marketing background
• Focus on creating value for our customers
• Understanding of market dynamics and competitive environment
• Experience and knowledge of vegetable seed market, marketplace dynamics, competitive environments, and customer needs.
• Excelling verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills
