We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Business Manager. Mainly covering the Munster and South Leinster regions, the main crops you will focus on will be cereals, fodder crops, oilseed rape, pulses, potatoes, veg and fruit. You will sync with the Irish and UK commercial Crop Protection (CP) team and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve sales targets, build strong customer relationships, and promote our brand as a trusted partner in the Irish agricultural industry. Accountabilities/Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Achieving sales targets, in line with company marketing plan, within a given customer range and geography
  • Supporting and contributing to the achievement of the company’s overall business goals, in collaboration with other team members
  • Seek out and develop new opportunities for the business in Ireland
  • Ensuring customer accounts are maintained within agreed payment terms
  • Establishing close working relationships with key elements of the value chain (distributors, influencers, growers) to support achievement of sales plans.
  • To provide product knowledge and technical expertise to customers, offering tailored solutions and recommendations
  • Dealing with complaints in relation to the company’s products
  • Monitoring sales activities, analysing market trends, and identifying opportunities for growth and market expansion.
  • To contribute expertise, materials and support to the company’s marketing campaigns
  • To fulfil other projects as may be required from time to time

Qualifications

Requisite Experience, Qualifications and Behaviours:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Irish agricultural sales environment, with a proven track record of commercial success
  • Tillage industry knowledge and interest in future developments e.g. IPM, Biologicals, Regenerative Ag, Digital, Precision Agriculture, services, etc.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
  • IASIS Accreditation
  • Sound technical knowledge of crop husbandry and crop protection products.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a correct balance of activities across a complex value chain
  • The role allows for a degree of autonomous decision making. You should be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within a team
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver short term sales with a long-term mindset and passion to transform agriculture
  • Good IT Skills and an ability to use the MS Suite. Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP etc is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field (relevant experience will be considered)
