ROLE PURPOSE

  • Drive value maximization of the herbicide portfolio in the Commercial Unit (CU) across business areas and key crops.
  • Identify and bring innovations that rejuvenate the CU herbicide portfolio and defend, drive future growth.
  • Ensure integrity of the AME herbicide portfolio/ LTO through active engagement with the Stewardship Lead
  • Ensure consistency of herbicide portfolio decisions across the Commercial Unit and Business Areas (BA)
  • Deliver increased innovation to growers through successful herbicide New Product Introductions, product repositioning.
  • Working closely with the AMEA portfolio team and leading in best practice sharing from AMEA and other regions as well as within AME

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive herbicide portfolio decisions across the Commercial Unit (CU) including all aspects of product life cycle management for formulations (innovation through to phase-out)
  • With the support of CPD, Regulatory, evaluate the herbicide portfolio performance and identify critical gaps in the CU, BA’s and countries, to be filled, whilst also collaborating with the SAS and 3rd party team.
  • Define, monitor & regularly review SMS performance, assess risks and opportunities and initiate actions as needed, including the plans to address FTO/FVC challenges (mitigate challenges, capture opportunities from competition, appropriate and timely gap filing strategies/solutions)
  • Federate herbicide business cases across BA/CU and within AMEA, for potential new products/formulations projects
  • Ensure seamless connection between CPD, Regulatory and P&S to deliver on time and in full on herbicide portfolio projects, business.
  • Maximize on our herbicide portfolio through driving of the definition and implementation of strong Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) strategies on key brands, active ingredients across the BA’s, CU.
  • Drive creation and implementation of the key products brand plans & strategies, launches and positioning ensuring consistency across the BA’s, including value price training.
  • Together with the pricing team, ensure herbicide value maximization across the BU by providing annual pricing guidance to Countries, BA’s, value pricing training, monitor net prices & deviations from budget, provide insight, challenge, and initiate actions.
  • Contribute to the various CU herbicide portfolio decision platforms: Technical Result Meeting, Business Area Portfolio Meetings, CU Portfolio Team meetings.
  • Lead annual Regional Portfolio Review (TPR) process for designated herbicide SMSs: Define grower needs, portfolio gaps, 3rd Party targets; Agree portfolio plans with Global Product Management; Track projects and assess business impact against the committed 5-year Business Plan; Provide guidance to countries to align local LEX/FEX projects and local 3rd party distribution with the SMS plans.
  • Influence successful NPIs introduction and management by working with Global and Regional and BA Portfolio Teams, to support process, drive teamwork, planning and adherence to brand guidelines, monitoring results, documenting and best practice sharing.
  • Support in the review, input of fungicide market information data in I-Plan with the BAs and with Region.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Critical experience and knowledge

  • Agronomic background with at least 5-years sales & marketing management, often customer facing, preferably in diverse countries in strategic and operational roles.
  • CP product and crop agronomy expertise
  • Strong people management, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Language skills - must have excellent language skills, English being the key communication language.
  • Key sales management skills; strong understanding of customer needs, structure, and business drivers
  • Marketing and Business acumen
  • Ability to build partnerships.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR IN FIRST 12 MONTHS

  • Successful completion of the PDC 2024 – timely review of BA business cases, approval and budget prioritization of approved projects.
  • Review, challenge, support the countries, BA’s in I-Plan input, use in their BC development, campaigns
  • management, execution as well as market share defense, growth in the key herbicide segments.
  • Preparing and presenting the herbicide portfolio strategy in the 201 AME CP Portfolio, TPR, TRM, TPT meetings
  • Refreshing the AME 5 YP herbicide strategy and supporting the launching of NPIs across the CU.
  • Leading the 2025 Herbicide PDC for all BA’s.

Preferred location is Izmir, any candidate from AME would be considered.
