Job description

As a field production agronomist you will be responsible:

  • Organizing the production and processing of corn and sunflower seeds in Hungary
  • Maintaining contact with producers and processing plants
  • Developing crop production technology and providing professional consultancy
  • Cooperating with plant shifts during harvest
  • Preparing plans, reports, and analyses for European management
  • Assisting the Field Production manager with reporting tasks
  • Supporting and monitor growers throughout the entire production cycle, from planting to harvest, ensuring adherence to multiplication protocols
  • Inspecting returned basic seed from growers for quality and compliance
  • Maintaining accurate records in Crop wise / field data collection software
  • Supervising de-tasseling and roughing operations carried out by growers
  • Coordinating activities of temporary labor during the de-tasseling period
  • Providing key data for yield forecasting and performance evaluations

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • Degree in Agriculture or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in corn production
  • Practical experience in agricultural fieldwork
  • Intermediate proficiency in English
  • Native proficiency in Hungarian
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Physically fit for fieldwork
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Quality-focused mindset
  • Open-minded and adaptable
  • Strong communication skills
