Job description

The Staff Product Application Specialist plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between product development and market success. This position focuses on ensuring that Syngenta's products meet customer requirements and can be successfully applied across global markets, with a particular emphasis on the NAFTA region. The specialist will leverage advanced data analytics, predictive science, and modeling to drive innovation in application technologies, while collaborating with regional and global partners to shape strategies in lab automation, precision agriculture, and digital agriculture.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as a technical liaison between the application equipment industry, external customers, and internal Syngenta departments, facilitating seamless product development and market transfer.
  • Innovate and develop improved equipment, precision application techniques, and additives to enhance product performance and sales.
  • Design and conduct rigorous application and supply chain testing programs to ensure Syngenta products are robust and suitable for intended markets.
  • Develop new testing and application methods to guarantee customer satisfaction with Syngenta products under diverse market conditions.
  • Provide product stewardship support, address quality issues, and devise innovative solutions for sustained competitive advantage.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance demand for existing products, differentiate Syngenta offerings, and promote their development through cost, performance, and presentation improvements.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the agricultural industry, particularly in automation, data science, digital and precision agriculture, to support strategic vision alignment with formulation functions in NAFTA and Global/Regional Business Interfaces.

Qualifications

Critical knowledge

  • Good familiarity with agricutural practices, regulatory environment, and dose-transfer mechanisms.
  • Applicants must have a solid understanding of the scientific disciplines; Application Technology of agricultural products, Agricultural equipment and machinery, Precision Agriculture, Laboratory Automation, Data Analytics, Predictive Modeling, Agricultural Science and Engineering Agronomy or Formulation Technology.
  • Knowledge of biological and chemical/physical product performance criteria for products and suitable application techniques to optimize their performance.
  • Applicants should hold a B.S. degree in an appropriate scientific discipline such as Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Applied Biology, Chemistry, or other Agricultural discipline and 3+ years of experience. Post-Graduate degree preferred (M.S or Ph.D).

Desired experience

  • Experience with agricultural equipment industry.
  • Development or Field sales of crop protection products.
  • Farming background.
