About Us:

To support that challenge, we are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to be located in Durham, North Carolina. As the Administrative Assistant you will support several key functions within the Seeds Research team in various administrative duties with a regional focus.

You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

  • Assuring compliance with all company, local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to administration.
  • Providing service through the application of established methods, systems, and procedures within a define framework. 
  • Responsible to input data required to include new companies in the procurement system.

Accountabilities:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks for Executive Assistant to the Global Head of Seeds Research.
  • Provide administrative support to three Functional Leaders.
  • Order catering, using Catering Trax, for events and lunch meetings.
  • Generate CAPEX purchase orders through the Ariba SAP system.
  • Liaison between Seeds Research employees and procurement for purchase order actions such as: increases, closures, and receipt of goods and services.
  • Work with site capital improvements to improve and sustain project manager support.
  • Participate in meetings as identified by the Executive Assistant and/or Functional Leaders.
  • Effectively communicating on a daily basis with peers and supervisor regarding the status of projects and work activities.
  • Record and analyze key metrics to support the Executive Assistant of Seeds Research and the RTP admin group.
  • Maintain and update RTP Admin playbook to ensure accuracy of policy and procedures.
  • Enter monthly expenses in Concur in a timely manner.
  • Assist with domestic and international travel arrangements. Travel arrangements may include visa processing

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • B.S. degree in business or related field preferred. Candidates with relevant comparable experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement purchasing processes and reviewing quotes for accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP Ariba, Sharepoint, Concur, Zoom meetings, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in a team and communicate with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work on his/her own without direction.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
