The Program Manager, Academic Partnerships develops and executes a best-in-class talent acquisition strategy to support the pipelining of early talent ranging from High schools, Technical Colleges, Community Colleges, Universities and student organizations.  Partnerships will be as diverse as our workforce to engage on multiple skill levels and among various interests.

The incumbent will drive tactical and strategic initiatives to support the national pipelining effort. In partnership with Talent Acquisition, Business leaders, Regional Leaders and Marketing.  The incumbent will evaluate and focus on key partnerships that will elevate Syngenta’s brand and enhance the “new talent” pipeline.

Leadership

  • Drive the development of academic /program partnerships, processes and strategies that are impactful, measurable, and transformative.
  • Build relationships with Program Directors at designated academic institutions.
  • Serve as the expert program leader and national point of contact, for all new talent initiatives, ensuring that best practices and effective sourcing methods are established.
  • Operations management
  • Drive high levels of client satisfaction through the regional talent acquisition team, while managing service issues & promptly mapping opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing to drive sourcing outreach and enhance our employer brand to the “new talent” segment.
  • Oversight of the pipeline development and associated strategies. Develop enhanced candidate nurturing strategies that are consistent, compelling and showcase Syngenta as the destination of choice
  • Ensure there is a robust sourcing strategy in place for the program, understanding local requirements and translating this into a media presence and purchasing strategy in line with budget

Project & change management

  • Manage talent acquisition projects end to end (e.g. design, build, test, deploy).
  • Oversight of the pipeline development and associated strategies. Develop enhanced candidate nurturing strategies that are consistent, compelling and showcase Syngenta as the destination of choice.
  • Develop candidate nurturing strategy that targets current students with Syngenta
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Leaders on recruitment event strategy and execution

Talent Acquisition Strategy Development

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior business and HR Leaders to define future talent needs to help shape the overall talent acquisition strategy for the new talent segment

Governance / Reporting

  • Provide communication and regular updates / dashboards to senior HR & business stakeholders on recruitment performance (monthly, quarterly, annual) 
  • Utilize data and analytics through effective reporting tools to inform business decisions.
  • Ownership of “new talent” recruitment metrics to report out results against baseline and KPIs.
  • Manage compliance audit requests as required

Complexity

  • Able to work in a complex matrix environment including dotted and strong line reporting as well as stakeholder connection
  • High level of senior stakeholder management such as regional and functional leadership teams
  • Autonomous work environment where line manager is remote and in a different time zone  Ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and trends and translate to meaningful insights and actions
  • Ability to think through complex problems and determine solutions 
  • Confident communicator both verbally and in writing with a strong command of English
  • Able to manage complex budgets to deliver global, regional and local outcomes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of strong talent acquisition experience preferred in a global organization
  • 7 years plus of equivalent demonstrated strategic talent acquisitions experience with New / Early Talent segment strategies, talent pipelining / community development, including employer branding, Diversity and Inclusion strategies within the segment is preferred
  • Track record in building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, managers and candidates 
  • Project / change management experience; ideally in the areas of process improvement, technology implementation etc.
  • Budget management experience preferred
  • Vendor management experience preferred
  • College degree preferably in business or HR related field. Master’s degree a plus 
  • 7+ years of experience within an Academic Institution or with Strategic Talent Acquisition Early Talent / University relations experience is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated relationship management and leadership skills, along with the ability to influence business leaders. 
  • Proven ability to act at both at the strategic and tactical level in a fast-paced environment; must be extremely organized, resourceful, detail oriented, flexible and able to multi-task. Strong project management skills are required.
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and analytical skills 
  • Must have the ability to travel 25-35%.
