Job description

In our continuing mission to enable digital science across Crop Protection Research and Development (CP R&D) we are looking for a enterprise level business analyst to deliver a significant, high value and impactful transformation across the global function, Product Biology. This enables key understandings of how our new inventions and technologies deliver innovate products to the customers we serve.

You will be someone who is curious, courageous to act and through building a deep understanding of how the processes and outcomes of product biology support the creation of new Active ingredients from small chemical molecules to biologicals and new modalities of product innovation looking at soil health and bio stimulants.Creating a transparent and enrolling stakeholder engagement strategy you will support the creation of a change roadmap, incremental delivery, realization of new opportunities across the global function of product biology from inception of field trial to supporting key decisions in product creation. 

Working further than Research and development with colleagues in science and IT you will support a multi million dollar investment into existing Devops teams across the core capabilities needed including creating field experiments, capturing data , creating FAIR data products and a data exploitation layer that leverages the power of AI and other digital applications from R&D and into commercial digital products.

You will deeply understand and identify the needs of the organization and translate these into initiative and epic level artefacts for delivery teams to enact and play a key role in maintaining that delivery heartbeat.

Accountabilities

  • Defining and maintaining a 3 to 5 year IT strategy across multiple R&D capabilities aligned to drive business goals, ensuring business value is generated.
  • Ensure data products are created that are FAIR.
  • Defining and maintaining a portfolio of investment in IT solutions aligned to the strategy.
  • Managing multiple Epic level backlogs in multiple capabilities and IT products.
  • Be an active member of the business analytst community, contributing to setting best practice, peer review, mentoring and coaching.
  • Promotes a culture of considered risk taking.
  • Lead and drive the development of a digital future landscape across multiple R&D capabilities. together with key stakeholders in those areas.
  • Identify opportunities to create breakthrough initiatives.

Jealott's Hill International Research Centre is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff. Jealott’s Hill is one of the main global research and development sites and key activities include research into discovery of new active ingredients, new formulation technologies, product safety, technical support of our product range and seeds research.


Qualifications

Experience / Previous jobs required for the job

  • 5+ years Business analysis in a number of domains with work from incremental delivery to strategic influencing.
  • 2+ years experience working in an Agile (ideally DevOps) environment.
  • Experience working in life sciences R&D desirable.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Consensus builder across diverse interest groups.
  • Strong influencer with excellent communication skills.
  • Self motivated and proactive, ability to anticipate issues early.
  • Ability to manage a high level of complexity and uncertainty.

Critical knowledge and education required for the job

  • University Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong customer focus, communication, teamwork and negotiation skills.
  • Advances in technology and science in the external world.
  • Act on your own with minimal guidance in a complex scientific or business sustainability environment while still ensuring full compliance with all internal and external standards.
  • Fluency in English.
