Job description

Join our newly established Seedcare facility and drive our supply chain success! We're seeking a detail-oriented Materials Planner to manage critical supply relationships and ensure seamless production flow. This is a unique opportunity to shape and drive our planning systems through startup, first manufacture, and production ramp-up of our new facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor schedules and purchase orders for active ingredients, raw materials, and packaging
  • Build knowledge on portfolio of products
  • Monitor and maintain optimal safety stock levels
  • Coordinate with suppliers to secure delivery commitments
  • Track and report vendor OTIF performance
  • Create and manage purchase orders aligned with demand
  • Handle supplier complaints system
  • Optimize stock levels across multiple locations
  • Participate in manufacturing review meetings
  • Manage artwork change impacts on production
  • Support new product introductions
  • Coordinate with 3rd party warehousing and logistics providers

Qualifications

Qualifications and Required Experience

  • Degree in logistics, business, or supply chain (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong SAP/ERP system knowledge
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Experience in supply chain processes
  • Ability to adapt quickly to demand changes

Site Details 

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield. 

At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one formulation and packaging plant. Our Seedcare asset is due to open in 2026.
