Overall purpose of job:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer Lead to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data flow, data quality, and data accessibility for our organization.

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, transform, and load data from various sources into our data lake.
  • Collaborating with other data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implementing and optimizing data models and schemas to support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining data integration processes, APIs, and data connectors to enable seamless data exchange between different systems.
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity by implementing data validation, cleaning, and transformation processes.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and resolving any issues or performance bottlenecks.
  • Implementing security measures and best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and recommending improvements to enhance our data infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Necessary Fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL for data manipulation and querying.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience with the cloud platforms AWS, and familiarity with their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Spectrum, Athena, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Quicksight, etc). Azure or GCP is a plus.
  • DevOps skills to maintain CI/CD pipelines and enable seamless and efficient software delivery. Tools: Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as master data management (MDM) systems, data quality tools, and data integration tools.
  • Knowledge of data integration techniques, tools, and frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience on Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
  • Must have excellent leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills and be a team player.
